As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor,
I received my Bachelor's, Master's and Specialist's degrees from the University of Florida and completed my internship at The Willough at Naples with a concentration in substance abuse and eating disorders.
Over the past 14+ years I have gained extensive training and experience treating
eating disorders. In addition to this challenging work I also like to maintain a balance by
providing individual, couples, and group psychotherapy for those struggling with a range of issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship difficulties. I am Level I trained and certified in
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a treatment method used to heal symptoms of trauma as well as other emotional conditions. I utilize EMDR to complement work being done with current clients that may benefit from this type of treatment.
I particularly enjoy the challenge of working with couples and in my experience have come to see that being a successful couple means reaching a delicate balance between taking our partners needs and desires into consideration while at the same time not forgetting our own individual needs and desires. My goal is to work compassionately, non-judgmentally and collaboratively with the couple, creating a safe place for the couple to risk new ways of relating to each other, listening to each other and expressing thoughts and feelings with each other, ultimately leading to new possibilities and solutions to their problems.
